About the Role:
The client is looking for a civils supervisor to manage and oversee all construction activities related to underground cable installation and replacement across the SSE area in Scotland.
This is a key leadership role ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to high Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
● Supervise and manage underground cable installation and replacement work
● Conduct site surveys before, during, and after projects, reporting findings to theProject Manager
● Plan works within the electrical/civils sector
● Efficiently allocate staff and resources to meet project deadlines
● Compile job packs and ensure teams are properly briefed before work begins
● Submit necessary permits and approvals (PAIs)
● Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including CDMregulations
● Motivate and support field staff to maintain high work standards
● Manage subcontractors and ensure adherence to project specifications
● Keep detailed site documentation and report updates to project management
● Collaborate with Project Managers to maintain project schedules and budgets
● Provide mentoring and support to junior staff members
What We’re Looking For:
● Experience managing construction sites and field-based staff in LV, HV, substation, and underground works
● NRSWA certification
● IOSH – Managing Safety or SMSTS / SSSTS
● First Aid & Manual Handling qualifications
● CDM Awareness
● Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, customers, and project teams
● Proactive approach to problem-solving and resource management
