The Role

Our client, a leading provider of utility services, is looking for a Technical Senior Design Engineer to join their Major Projects team. As the Technical Senior Design Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring and delivering compliant and fit-for-purpose designs in line with business targets.
• Identifying and addressing design-related costs and programme impacts.
• Providing design reviews for team members to ensure high-quality design packs.
• Taking part in ongoing training, supporting the identification of requirements, and helping to develop training programmes.
• Driving efficiency by monitoring team performance against productivity standards.

About You

• Degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience within the ICP industry, delivering 11kV and 20kV complex designs.
• Experience in designing primary substations from 33kV to 132kV is advantageous.
• Previous experience in design project management.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/GIS, Trimble, IPSA, and Cableizer.
• Solid knowledge of current legislation, technical standards, codes of practice, and engineering recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and ensure critical paths are met.
• Proactive, approachable, and committed to delivering excellent customer service.
