Job Purpose:
To support the water asset team by ensuring high-quality installation of the water network, providing customers with wholesome drinking water, and maintaining the integrity and robustness of the network for the future.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the point of contact for developers, customers, and contractors, managing escalations and engaging with stakeholders during both planned and unplanned incidents.
- Ensure the network’s quality and integrity are upheld as part of a structured audit strategy.
- Comply with relevant legislation when conducting diagnostics or on-site observations.
- Ensure all water assets meet technical and regulatory standards as outlined by our client.
- Undertake regulatory drinking water quality sampling in accordance with DWTS UKAS 17025 standards.
- Attend site meetings when necessary.
- Perform internal and external pressure and flow readings.
- Conduct meter readings.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications:
- Full driving license
- SHEA Water
- CSCS or equivalent
- National Water Hygiene
- Confined Spaces
- Network/Leakage qualification
Experience:
- Working within the water industry
- Positive and proactive attitude
- Experience in a customer-facing role
- Mains hydrant and valve operations
- Construction site experience
- Water sampling experience
- Knowledge of health and safety standards
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and solve problems proactively
Special Conditions:
All Water Field Technicians are required to undergo a criminal records check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), as the role involves entering customers’ homes. This aligns with our client's Recruitment of Ex-Offenders Policy.
