The Role:
The Engineering Support Officer (ESO) will provide support to the Design and Construction teams by handling administrative tasks related to legal agreements and land rights. This role involves maintaining accurate records, coordinating meetings, assisting with documentation, and ensuring smooth communication with relevant stakeholders. The ESO will assist with CAD drawing assistance for legal agreements required for projects.
Full training will be provided. The role offers opportunities for growth as the ESO will develop an understanding of tasks over time. After gaining a good grasp of the company’s operations and the wider utility industry, there may be opportunities for career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with legal teams, external facilitators, and network teams regarding land rights and legal processes.
- Complete standard land registry and highway adoption searches.
- Perform legal assessments for projects.
- Create legal plans on AutoCAD.
- Provide management reports on project legal progress and performance.
- Support handover meetings by confirming land rights and legal requirements.
- Monitor costs and liaise with legal facilitators for project work.
- Respond to queries, chase correspondence, and provide regular updates.
- Maintain key company databases and support data management for internal and external reporting.
- Escalate problems to senior members as necessary.
- Work within company policies and maintain records of CPD for learning and progression.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

- Working knowledge of the utility industry.
- Experience with Land Rights and legal documentation.
- Experience using Google Sheets.
- Knowledge of 2D CAD drawings (training will be provided).
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work flexibly under supervision or independently.
