The Role

We are looking for Engineering Support Officers to assist our Sales & Tendering, Design, and Construction teams with general administrative tasks and provide basic CAD drawing assistance for tendering and project designs. The role will involve clerical tasks with minimal technical input, with full training provided. Over time, you will develop a broader understanding of the business and the utilities industry, with opportunities for career progression as your experience grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Tendering/Design Engineers and Regional/Project Managers in fulfilling administrative tasks for tenders, designs, and construction projects to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Complete Point of Connection (POC) and New Adoption and Variations (NAVs) applications.
  • Obtain or produce Utility Stats plans, legal plans, as-laid drawings, and other drawings as required.
  • Update and maintain key company databases.
  • Undertake Legals and NRSWA processes.
  • Complete weekly whereabouts reports, programme amendments, and call-offs.
  • Produce cost variations based on site instructions.
  • Produce as-laid drawings from site sketches.
  • Apply for and log Asset Values (AV).
  • Apply for and distribute MPANs and MRPNs.
  • Escalate any issues to Senior Engineers or functional managers to mitigate Health & Safety risks, customer complaints, or commercial risks.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Keep a record of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for learning and progression.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by your Line Manager.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the utilities industry.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload with guidance from senior team members.
  • Experience with NRSWA processes or legal documentation.
  • Familiarity with 2D CAD drawings (training will be provided).
