Main Purpose of Role

The HSQE Advisor supports the Head of HSQE in managing compliance and implementing HSQE policies and procedures. This role involves on-site inspections, audits, incident investigations, safety training, and developing safety-related procedures to ensure alignment with industry best practices. The client provides full turnkey design services and construction up to 132kV for developers, private high voltage networks, distribution network operators, and other utilities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site compliance audits and monitor behavioural safety.
  • Maintain ISO 9001/14001/45001 certifications and support external audits.
  • Provide weekly HSQE reports and undertake internal NERS audits.
  • Develop and implement safe systems of work and assist in writing risk assessments.
  • Plan and deliver HSQE training for on-site operatives and subcontractors.
  • Investigate incidents and compile HSQE KPI data for management reviews.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Preferred: NEBOSH H&S Diploma or higher.
  • Minimum: NEBOSH Construction/H&S Certificate with utilities experience.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental management systems.
  • Experience in supporting colleagues in HSQE management.
  • Full driving license; First Aid certification preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
