Our client is one of the UK’s chosen utility partners for housebuilders and developers across the UK. They deliver leading multi-utility infrastructure solutions to all types of new-build developments.
Role Purpose:
Project management of the safe installation and operation of Company and Scottish Water Networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Health and Safety matters related to the installation and commissioning of utility networks.
- Lead initial and ongoing site meetings, including CDM pack handover.
- Attend monthly site progress meetings with the customer and other required meetings to ensure progress on site variations and internal major design changes.
- Ensure adherence to the one-week timeline for contacting all new sites, supervising to guarantee assets are constructed safely, as designed, and properly recorded.
- Manage network construction, including material control and plant supervision.
- Monitor productivity to ensure alignment with project cost expectations.
- Participate in internal planning and coordination meetings to provide updates and communicate plans for your teams.
- Work with the scheduling team to ensure your program is properly communicated across business systems and that all paperwork is correctly issued to operatives.
- Conduct competency interviews with operatives, ensuring all required qualifications are maintained throughout employment.
- Hold HSE Toolbox talks with operatives to ensure all legislative changes are communicated.
- Perform monthly site, team, van, and site preparation audits to ensure compliance with legislation and company procedures.
- Investigate and report health and safety incidents, ensuring corrective actions are completed.
- Assist with queries on existing assets or plant and handle emergencies, including acting as the officer in charge during a gas or electric supply emergency and participating in the standby rota.
- Support the Senior Project Manager with additional duties and the development of improved efficiency within the company.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NRSWA Supervisory card, relevant SHEA card, and CSCS registration.
- Working knowledge of legislation, technical standards, and codes of practice related to Gas, Electric, Fibre, and Water distribution systems.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Competent Person/Authorizing Engineer registration (Gas), Senior Authorized Person (Electric), or NCO3 (Water) qualifications.
- Significant experience in the utility sector, particularly in multi-utility new housing projects.
