About:

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial aspects of contracts, ensuring profitable performance and alignment with business objectives. The Senior QS will handle contracts up to £5m+, managing negotiations, procurement, financial oversight, and effective controls. The client provides full turnkey design services and construction up to 132kV for developers, private high voltage networks, distribution network operators, and other utilities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Review and negotiate contracts and subcontracts pre-and post-award.
• Provide commercial input for tenders and support the bidding process.
• Manage multiple contracts, ensuring alignment with KPIs, forecasting, and budget control.
• Lead progress and cost management reviews, prepare contract-specific reports, and handle commercial disputes.
• Maintain positive cash flow and proactively mitigate commercial risks.
• Reporting to the Finance and Commercial Director, you will collaborate with finance, project management, engineering, and external stakeholders.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, alongside the ability to manage and mitigate contractual risks effectively.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
• Professional qualification (e.g., RICS) is preferred.
• Experience in a senior commercial role, ideally in engineering, construction, or rail.
• Strong contract management experience within a project or contractor environment.
• Full UK driving licence.

Location: Hybrid (Home/Office-Based)
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 (dependent on experience) + £6,500 Car Allowance
Hours: 40 per week
