The Company

You will join a growing Independent Connections Provider (ICP) who specialise in LV electricity networks as well as renewable energy projects. 

This role will be within the design team, focusing on supporting and growing the business through customer satisfaction. 

The Role

The Assistant Design Engineer’s role is to support customer enquiries and orders within the business. This will involve you applying company processes and practices to your work and supporting the Senior Design Engineer. 

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring design work is completed within customer and business requirements;
  • Maintain an understanding and awareness of Health and Safety policies and procedures;
  • Proactively manage Health and Safety issues & concerns whilst working closely with Construction teams to ensure designs are completed safely and accidents are avoided; 
  • Work closely with Designers and other departments to ensure and develop designs to meet customer and business requirements;
  • Work closely with Construction Engineers to ensure that project objectives are met and understood fully;
  • Identify and recommend improved ways of completing work;
  • Ensure that all working processes and practices are followed;
  • Liaise with colleagues across the organisation to ensure tasks are completed effectively;
  • Liaise with the public to ensure that work is handled smoothly, making sure that they are treated with respect and patience. 

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in electrical or electronic engineering;
  • Organisational and time management skills;
  • Effective Project Management skills;
  • Be customer focused - you’re aware of what the customer needs;
  • Have a positive “can do” attitude towards tasks;
  • Have a practical and a problem solving approach to tasks;
  • Show initiative towards tasks and problems;
  • Great Teamwork skills - effectively working with others to deliver results.
