Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a Gas Metering Engineer to support the ‘design for approval’ (DFA) process. This role involves providing a first point of contact to Service Providers and sub-contractors, analyzing the need for additional costs for the replacement of gas metering assets, and ensuring smooth project delivery from start to finish.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Manage the DFA process, handling technical queries and overseeing SEL/meter designs for gas meters up to 7 barg.
- Resolve issues with Service Providers and Engineers by providing technical solutions.
- Ensure Service Providers and sub-contractors adhere to service levels and SLAs.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and stakeholders to deliver exceptional service.
- Own and be accountable for end-to-end project delivery.

Working Relationships & Contacts:
- The role involves customer interaction and managing Supplier and Contractor relationships.
- Provide technical support for the DFA process to account Suppliers on a monthly basis.
- Manage Contractors from a technical perspective with the support of the Contract Manager.
- Engage with third-party customers and material/product suppliers on all technical matters.
Requirements:
- Possess or be working towards accreditation with the Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM), ideally to a minimum of Engineering Technician (EngTech).
- Maintain personal engineering accreditations and qualifications.
- Desirable: I&C metering accreditations and Gas Safe Register (GSR).
Knowledge:
- Engineering & metering background, familiar with the latest IGEM standards, typically GM6 & GM8. Training will be provided.
- Previous experience in the natural gas, gas metering, or construction industry.
- I&C metering experience to CMET2 is required.
Skills / Abilities:
- Ability to work within a fast-paced team environment and independently.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Proficient in IT, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Willingness to travel occasionally to other offices, customer locations, and operational sites.
- Ability to visit and access third-party construction sites.
- Stay updated with industry developments by attending industry liaisons, seminars, and meetings.
- Enthusiastic and detail-oriented, with the ability to identify errors in DFA submissions and costings.
