Role Overview
Installation including Testing Chlorinating and commissioning of New Water Mains (On and Off Site Works), final and secondary connections to new water mains installations.
Responsibilities:
- Work safely, always wearing the relevant PPE that is supplied.
- Install Test, chlorinate and commission water infrastructure as instructed working to Scottish Water Codes of Practice, ensuring that all work is undertaken to a high standard of safety and technical quality by following all appropriate generic and specific method statements, work procedures and safety instructions.
- Have a full and comprehensive understanding of Scottish Water Testing, chlorinating and Sampling procedures.
- Final Connections (Primary tie-ins complex and non complex)
- Secondary Connections (complex and non complex)
- Accept delivery of plant and materials and check fitness for purpose prior to use.
- Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment remain in good condition, and report any defects to the Project Manager.
- Identify at an early stage all contract variations and report to the Project Manager and work in accordance with the company Variation and Deviations Procedure.
- Complete site-specific risk assessments daily and ensure maintenance of a safe working environment.
- Act as a Competent Person for your team.
- Attend “toolbox talks” and other training courses as required.
- Record accurate details of work undertaken.
- Submit relevant work details for recording and invoicing in the required timescale.
- Any other duties as required by the manager.
Requirements
- NCO2 / 3 Main Laying / Service Laying or Equivalent Water Safety Passport Water Hygiene
- Experience of Water Mains, Testing, Chlorination and Sampling
- Water Industry Construction
- Full UK driving licence
