Role Overview

The Street-works NRSWA Manager will oversee and manage the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) processes, ensuring compliance and effective coordination of streetworks in England, Scotland, and Wales. This hybrid role requires office presence at least once or twice a week, with some out-of-hours work for managing notices.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage NRSWA processes and procedures for highway work.
  • Implement management processes to identify operator competency.
  • Support stage and gate processes with necessary information.
  • Confirm streetworks requirements in pre-award meetings.
  • Manage 24/7/365 highway works and applications.
  • Submit permit applications and notices for highway access.
  • Coordinate with highways authorities and independent connection providers.
  • Monitor performance regarding FPNs, Section 74 fines, and improvement actions.
  • Maintain a register of approved NRSWA contractors.
  • Develop a control process for streetworks applications.
  • Implement pre-works and post-completion control procedures.
  • Provide data management for internal and external reporting.
  • Offer general administration support as needed.
  • Manage quality assurance and inspections process.

 

Requirements

  • Essential: In-depth knowledge and experience with NRSWA, IT system proficiency (Symology Insight & Aurora), general computer literacy, excellent communication skills, multitasking ability, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Desirable: Ability to prioritize work, flexible working style, and initiative.
