The Company

Join a leading Independent Connection Provider (ICP) offering a comprehensive range of services including private high voltage connections, maintenance, and multiple new connections across Electricity, Gas, Telecoms, Water, and EV Charging.

Role Description

As a Design Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in producing intricate designs and technical drawings aligned with industry standards and customer requirements. Collaborating closely with Tendering Engineers, you'll ensure designs are both compliant and cost-effective, promoting value engineering and adherence to company policies.

Key Responsibilities

- Produce compliant designs following industry standards and customer specifications.

- Apply ENA, DNO, and IDNO G81 design standards effectively.

- Prepare cost estimates for variations and manage project spending within designated limits.

- Champion value engineering initiatives and operational improvements.

- Ensure design work aligns with NERS accreditations and project financials.

- Proactively escalate issues to mitigate business risks.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

- Proficiency in 11kV & LV design with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

- Knowledge of design processes across multiple DNO regions.

- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and project teams.

Desirable

- HND or degree in an electrical discipline.

- Experience in earthing designs across various DNO regions.

- Understanding of practical electrical installations.

- Progress towards Engineering Technician professional status with the IET.

- Familiarity with private electricity networks.

- Ability to identify and address competency gaps.
