Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Network Design Engineer to act as a technical leader and mentor within a specialized team of Network Design Engineers. 

This pivotal role involves assessing technical design requirements for new projects, collaborating with developers, and Independent Connection Providers (ICPs). The successful candidate will ensure that all designs adhere to our client’s stringent standards from project inception through to adoption.

Responsibilities:

• Review and approve new electricity network connection designs for compliance and adoption.
• Lead the creation and development of network connection designs in line with company standards and NERS accreditation.
• Guarantee designs comply with current and future industry legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Offer outstanding customer service, managing expectations and timelines effectively.
• Mentor and manage a team of design engineers, promoting their professional development.
• Maintain robust communication with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate design approval.
• Oversee the as-built approval process and liaise with the build assurance team on design-related snags.
• Ensure proper land rights are secured for adoptable assets and keep abreast of relevant legislation.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical distribution engineering.
• Degree, HNC/D, or equivalent qualifications in engineering.
• Proficient in high and low voltage network design and understanding of operational networks.
• Skilled in reviewing, interpreting, and approving externally created designs.
• Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory, legislative, health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Strong organisational and exceptional communication skills, coupled with a dedication to customer service.

Desirable:

• Extra High Voltage (EHV) network design experience.

Remuneration:

• £60,000 - £70,000
• Company car
• 10% company bonus
• 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
