Quantity Surveyor:
Company Overview:
Our client is a prominent utilities contracting business, providing HV electrical services across the UK.
Renowned for their exceptional customer service, innovative delivery, and commitment to safety, the company is a tier 1 contractor to DNOs, with major framework contracts for the maintenance and development of their 11kV - 33kV networks.
Role:
- Manage contract/project performance, including CVR reviews and risk mitigation.
- Report on project cashflows and profitability, and manage subcontractors.
- Handle project changes, variations, and notices, including early warnings and extension requests.
- Assess and value variations and compensation events, and attend risk review meetings on-site with the Client.
- Support ad hoc projects and continuous improvement of business processes.
- Prepare and submit valuations, payment applications, and final accounts to clients.
- Assist in tenders, pricing, and daily commercial and contractual aspects.
The Person:
- Required Qualifications & Professional Membership(s):
- Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrable experience in a similar commercial or financial role.
- Professional membership of a relevant body would be beneficial (e.g., ICM, RICS, ACCA).
Knowledge & Experience:
- Experience in the utilities, civils, groundwork, highways, and infrastructure industry,operating in a commercial, multi-divisional organisation.
- Up-to-date knowledge of contractual law and commercial practice, ideally with NEC experience.
- Familiarity with the Schedule of Rates contracts, measured term contracts, and MOD environment.
Reward:
- £40,000 - £50,000
- £4200 car allowance or company car
