Role Overview
We are actively seeking a diligent and experienced Fibre Field Engineer to play a pivotal role in our regional, home-based team. This position focuses on the maintenance, incident response, and overall integrity of our fibre network, ensuring the highest standards of service and technical precision.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site support for network operational teams, ensuring seamless service continuity.
- Adhere to stringent safety standards, utilising provided personal protective equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve broadband, telephone, and TV service faults at customer premises.
- Serve as the first point of contact for network incidents within the designated region.
- Execute network maintenance tasks with adherence to established protocols.
- Complete necessary documentation with accuracy and timeliness for invoicing purposes.
- Provide technical guidance and support across various company departments and to clients.
- Engage in professional development opportunities, including training and mentoring junior team members.
Requirements
- Possession of a full UK Driver’s License and a CSCS Card.
- Demonstrated experience in FTTH networks and fibre splicing is essential.
- Proficiency in using OTDR testers and analyzing results.
- A strong foundation in team collaboration and a self-motivated work ethic.
- Desirable: Qualifications such as City & Guilds 3667-02, NRSWA certificate, and experience with GPON.
Rewards
- A competitive salary range of £32,000 - £42,000, reflective of experience and qualifications.
- On call allowance - average of £3,000 a year
- Fault bonus (depending on quantity of faults fixed) - average £3000 but could reach as high as £10,800
- Over time: Before 20:00, normal rate After 20:00, time and a half Sunday and BH, double time.
