Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Utility Projects
Location: Central Scotland

Our client is a leading UK specialist business that offers engineering, construction, demolition, decommissioning, remediation, rail, environmental services, and reinforced concrete frame solutions. We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in utility projects to join our team based in Central Scotland.
Job Description:
The client is looking for a dynamic Quantity Surveyor with 3-4 years of experience in utility projects, including clean or wastewater, gas, fibre, LV underground cabling, and civils. The successful candidate will be self-sufficient, taking pride in their work and able to manage their tasks independently. They will work under the supervision of a Senior QS, primarily focusing on monitoring best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weekly P&Ls and Monthly CVRs
- Subcontract management & Payment
- Desktop Measurement and Valuation
- Client meetings weekly
- Internal meetings weekly
- Cash forecasting and Programme forecasting for cost and sales
- Understanding of accruals
- WIP (Work in Progress) management
- Applications and invoicing
- Submitting compensation events and tracking through to agreement, articulating contractual risk associated with CEs.
Requirements:
- 3-4 years of experience in utility projects
- Proven experience in the mentioned tasks
- Strong understanding of contractual obligations and risks
- In-office presence required daily; flexibility earned with proven reliability
- Based in Central Scotland; minimal requirements to be on the workface
- Working hours: 8 am to 5 pm
Rewards:
- Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 (Depending on experience)
- Company car or car allowance (£5000)
