Role Overview: The role of Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager based in Sheffield aligns seamlessly with Our Client's vision. As a key member of the Commercial team, this position plays a pivotal role in delivering multidisciplinary projects within the Power Networks Division, optimizing contract turnover, and ensuring profitability. The successful candidate will contribute to reshaping and influencing the industry by driving leadership and collaboration within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • A key member of the Commercial team, delivering multidisciplinary projects.
  • Optimize contract turnover and profitability for all contracts.
  • Produce monthly reconciliations of contract performance on all contracts.
  • Collaborate with the internal team to develop contractual understanding.
  • Provide detailed financial insights to Project Managers.
  • Review and approve contract variations and resolve contractual disputes.
  • Provide comprehensive financial data for budget adjustments and month-end reports.
  • Monitor project invoicing for timely customer billing.
  • Provide commercial guidance to Project Managers regarding variations.
  • Provide financial mentoring to new team members and trainees.
  • Supervise financial management of projects, client invoicing, and project cash flow.
  • Monitor commercial operational activities and assist in restructuring business processes.
  • Perform regular Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR).

Requirements:

  • Experience within the Utilities, Power, and EV Sectors.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying and/or Construction Law.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ Quantity Surveyor experience.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in interpreting contracts/contractual terms.
  • Good working knowledge of industry-standard forms of contract, particularly in Power Network services.
  • Work collaboratively and use influence to gain results.
  • Present a professional image and promote the client's brand.
  • Show initiative in resolving problems.
  • Understand and seek to minimize waste in resources and processes.
  • Value for money mentality.
  • Take a balanced view on decisions made, considering long-term impact/consequences.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Highly competent in the suite of Microsoft Office (365, Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc).
