The Opportunity:
One of the UKs biggest and best independent utility network providers is looking for a graduate planning engineer to join them and work out of their Bury St Edmunds design office. Responsibilities:
Under the training and guidance of the Design Manager/ Senior Design Engineers you will be expected to:
- Undertake utility demand calculations and design electrical networks (11kV - LV)
- Preparation of network records using CAD and other systems
- Apply for connection points electric substations
- Liaise with other departments to progress approved networks in the design process.
- Issue data and reports in line with current business requirements.
- Performing volt drop calculations on windebut
- Maintain and improve consistent accuracy of data asset records.
- Complete design-based risk assessment and environmental risk assessments
Requirements:
Essential:
- Have a recognised Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualification (Beng/ Bsc or Meng/ Msc degree preferred).
Beneficial:
- Experience of CAD packages
- Knowledge of the UK Utilities Market
