About the Role:


We are currently seeking a dedicated Project Quantity Surveyor (PQS) to join our Construction team. As a PQS, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accurate financial performance of new connection projects during the construction phase. You will work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and the Finance team to ensure transparency and alignment with project budgets.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to provide detailed financial insights.
  • Review and approve contract variations and resolve contractual disputes.
  • Provide comprehensive financial data for budget adjustments and month-end reports.
  • Monitor project invoicing for timely customer billing.
  • Coordinate with the streetworks team to manage civil subcontractor costs.
  • Offer feedback on overspending related to price variances from initial estimates.
  • Provide commercial guidance to Project Managers regarding variations.
  • Share feedback with Construction Managers on the financial performance of project.
  • Assist in fulfilling actions resulting from the PPV process.
  • Aid Finance in splitting project budgets between infrastructure and MU works.
  • Provide financial mentoring to new team members and trainees.

Requirements: 


Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
  • Previous experience in Contract Management.
  • HNC in Quantity Surveying or equivalent discipline.
  • Completion of Anti-bribery training.

Desirable:

  • Prior involvement in power, gas, and/or water distribution networks.

Rewards:

  • Competitive Salary: £60,000 - £65,000
  • Car Allowance: £600.00 per month
  • Discretionary bonus
