A well-established Multi-Utility ICP with a team of 80+ people specialising in high voltage substation design, installation, maintenance, and repair.
They offer a range of private high-voltage connections and maintenance to multiple new connections across Electricity, Gas, Telecoms, and Water.
The company have doubled in size in the last year and is set to continue this growth in 2023.
Role Overview
The Quantity Surveyor will assist in the delivery of Utilities projects up to £4m, mainly for the connection of substations up to 33kV.
Reporting to the Managing Director and Operational Manager, the role requires full-time office responsibilities and regular site visits.
Responsibilities:
- Provide commercial advice to the Senior Management
- Execution of measurement process for all measured terms contracts
- Prepare the tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, with the architect and the client.
- Procure materials at best value to achieve value for money
- Track works progress and report on any contract KPI’s
- Identify and manage risk management and mitigation
- Prepare contract final accounts to the Operational Teams
- Manage contract applications for payment by clients
- Financial support to the Financial Controller and preparation of monthly CVR’s (cost, value, reconciliation) as when required
- Conduct site inspections as per internal requirements
- Communicate with clients to assist in the delivery of new and ongoing works
- Attend site visits to ensure client satisfaction and manage risks
- Ensure cost accuracy of the operations team against works budget
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management
- HV/LV ICP Multi Utilities preferably in New connection.
- JCT /NEC Contract experience.
- Experience of working with Schedule of Rates contracts and other measurement techniques
- Experience of organisation development and change, including change project planning and management
- Proven account negotiation experience
Reward:
- £40,000 - £45,000
