About the Role:

The Sampling and Regulations Technician is responsible for ensuring public health and safety by conducting water sampling, analysis, and inspection of plumbing systems at customers' properties.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily water quality control analysis and on-site analysis of drinking water, including chlorine, temperature, taste, odor, and turbidity, and interpret test results.
  • Accountable for water sampling activities, ensuring they meet regulatory program requirements and adhere to DWTS UKAS 17025 standard.
  • Ensure the proper storage and transportation of drinking water samples to a suitable location.
  • Prepare, calibrate, operate, and maintain equipment and instruments used to evaluate the quality of water samples.
  • Conduct fittings inspections to ensure installed plumbing systems are compliant, identifying risks to water quality and any issues relating to the waste, undue consumption, or misuse of water.
  • Undertake unscheduled visits to customer residential and commercial properties.
  • Provide high-quality customer service and deal with customers in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Liaise with the Water Sampling Manager and Regulations and Compliance Officer, and report any non-conformances to them.
  • May be required to participate in a Standby Rota.

Requirements:

  • Full driving licence
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer literate.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to effectively plan workload.
  • Maintains a helpful and customer-focused work environment.
  • Highly organised and motivated.
  • Exceptional record keeping skills to ensure audit trails are maintained.
  • Able to provide accurate quality work within the department and the company.
