The Company
My client is a growing Tier 1 contractor currently involved in massive infrastructure projects across London.
They are looking for an experienced SHEQ advisor to support with their London based projects.
The Role
To assist in the management of health, safety, quality and environmental matters within my clients telecoms business unit.
You will need to provide professional advice, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.
The role will involve occasional weekend and/or night work, but you will be rewarded with a generous overtime scheme.
Responsibilities
- To advise and assist in the planning and promotion of health, safety, environment and quality programs.
- Communicate with site teams.
- Ensure that the requirements under the company’s integrated management system are followed accordingly and to ensure that the contracts you cover are doing the same.
- Carryout out regular/continuous site, compound and CDM audits/inspections.
- Ensure that all sites are CDM compliant and the relevant documentation is in place and in date.
- Ensure site notice boards are current and are erected in the appropriate place.
- Assist the Manager in compiling records from SHEQ related meetings.
- Investigate the root causes of accidents, the circumstances leading up to them, introduce preventative measures to prevent reoccurrence and compiling the required reports and forwarding them to the SHEQ Manager/Director in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the SHEQ Department in all health, safety, environment and quality matters.
Requirements
- NEBOSH/NCRQ Level 6 (NVQ Level 5 as a minimum standard)
- EUSR or CSCS in a related subject
- NRSWA (SWQR)
- Working knowledge of HSG47
- Power/Fibre/Water/Gas experience
