Role Overview

As the Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll report to the Electrical Design Manager and support the design process for producing Multi-utility quotes for new projects and developments to existing projects. 

You will be responsible for ensuring full compliance of the company’s tendering processes to develop intended outcomes in a timely and effective way, working as part of the Tendering and Design teams. 

Responsibilities

• Undertake tendering, design studies specification of electrical distribution networks and substations from LV to 33kV;
• Work as part of the design team, assisting and supporting them to develop multi-utility network solutions;
• Complete network designs and approvals in line with NERS Design requirements;
• Produce design specifications in line with the company’s procedures and ensure that all information is available for the installation process;
• Be able to liaise with DNOs/IDNOs regarding their requirements and specifications to undertake electrical network design activities;

Requirements

• 3-5 years + previous experience within a multi-utility or electrical tendering and design sector;
• Strong technical background and understanding of multi-utility or electric industry;
• Excellent knowledge around appropriate legislation (CDM, NRSWA) as well as health and safety standards;
• IT literate;
• Commercial awareness in the utilities sector;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
