The Company 

You'll join one of the largest Independent Connection Providers (ICPs) in Europe in the renewables industry. This company have many exciting and innovative projects from battery storage to solar farm connections.

The Role

As a System Control Engineer, you'll help to support the Electrical Design Team with their HV and LV designs, schedules and commissioning works. 

Responsibilities

• Communicate updates on signal lists with internal departments and external suppliers and customers;
•  Create and update centralised control & protection signal databases;
• Coordinate signal dispatching between various projects across various sites;
• Configuration of central communication gateways within the business as well as further protocol converters;
• Prepare all HV/LV designs, layouts and schedules;
• Help produce detailed engineering designs from 11kv to 132kv in compliance with the businesses' standards within time and budget.

Requirements

• Electrical engineering degree or automation technology equivalent;
• 3 years experience working with SCADA systems for control systems and energy transmission;
• Experience working within IEC standards for substation control and for data exchange with higher level automation and SCADA systems;
• Have good knowledge of protocols for energy automation systems and the corresponding communication structures; 
• Have good knowledge of high voltage and substation technology as well as in the design of interlocking schemes and automated control sequences;
• Have good knowledge of secondary interfaces of high voltage components such as switching devices, transformers, CTs and VTs;
• Experience in AutoCAD.
