Role Overview

As an Engineering Support Officer, you’ll help support operational issues associated with the gas and power networks. This includes scheduling, administration support, ordering materials, raising quotes and allocating workers to emergency callouts.

This an ideal opportunity for someone interested / experienced in project based office support.

Responsibilities

  • Processing subcontractor jobs cards within a timely manner to comply with standards.
  • Processing subcontractors invoices to comply with service level agreements.
  • Raising quotes and ordering materials.
  • Assist scheduling in the planned works to engineers.
  • Liaise with operational installation team on a day-to-day basis and help to resolve any operational problems as they arise.
  • Updating work logs with progress updates and ensuring work is closed down within a in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the execution of urgent operational repair work.
  • Liaising with subcontractors regarding emergency & non-emergency service ensuring they attend within a timely manner to comply with standards.
  • Monitoring and processing emergency notification for damaged or leaking service and mains.
  • Ensure customer complaints are actioned and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Co-ordinate the receipt, authorisation, permit to work, clearance to proceed and closure process.
  • Maintain daily/weekly/monthly reports to support senior management.

Requirements 

  • All responsibilities have a data entry aspect and the use of Microsoft Office products at a first-generation level e.g. Word/Excel/PowerPoint is required.
  • Certain responsibilities have a high telephone contact aspect and a company approach to a consistent telephone manner is required.
  • Roles involving written external communication require the incumbent to be proficient in English grammar and to follow the company letter format.
