Tier 1 contracting business which delivers expert cabling, substation and fibre network construction services to DNOs, IDNOs and fibre companies across the South East of England.

Established around 25 years ago, the team now consists of around 250 full time colleagues. They hugely value health & safety having been awarded RoSPA Gold each year for the past 5 years.

As a Planner within the EHV projects team, you will support with planning and design services for the installation and civils works associated with 33kV - 132kV power cable installations.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking desktop and site surveys
  • Production of a paving schedule. 
  • Preparing project RAMS. 
  • Preparation of post project R1’s. 
  • Communicating with clients, agencies and utility providers representatives. 
  • To identify any Special Engineering Difficulties and then to liaise with necessary authorities to agree working methods and procedures. 
  • Preparing, updating and inputting information to MS Project reports.
  • Following and promoting the company SHEQ practises and procedures.

Requirements 

  • You will have strong working knowledge and skills in using industry standard planning and scheduling methodologies and tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • You have an Association for Project Management or equivalent project delivery qualification. (desirable)
  • You will have an extensive 'hands-on' project background which allows you to scrutinise plans, test assumptions and identify delivery risks and issues and reschedule, or integrate activities where necessary to optimise delivery.
  • You will have successfully planned in high-priority, and at least medium complexity projects, or work streams in a major project of a higher complexity, using formal project management processes. 
  • Proven strong engagement, facilitation and communication skills and be comfortable with questioning of information where needed.
  • You will have the ability to effectively identify, map and engage with stakeholders, including to brief upwards to senior management of Risks and Project flows.
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances, uncertainty and ambiguous or adverse situations whilst remaining calm and maintaining performance.
