The Company

You’ll join an international asset management business with over $500bn under its stewardship. In the UK, the business owns and operates gas, water, power distribution and fibre networks.

You would be joining one of their business units that focuses on delivering Gas, Water and Electrical infrastructure projects around London and the home counties. 

The Job

The multi utility team leader will be responsible for leading a team responsible for installing gas, water and electrical infrastructure. Most of the work is along highways a good understanding of NRSWA regulations is key. The company has some great expertise in the business already so as long as you have experience installing one of the utilities they are happy to provide you with training on the other two. 

In addition this company is growing very quickly and the parent company has great training infrastructure so there will be opportunities to progress and pick up qualifications over time. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage MU team assistants installing gas, water and electrical infrastructure
  • Install and commission gas, water and electrical infrastructure as instructed, ensuring that all work is undertaken to a high standard of safety and technical quality by following all appropriate method statements and safety instructions
  • Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment remain in good condition, and report any defects to the Project Manager
  • Identify at an early stage all contract variations and report to the Project Manager and work in accordance with the company Variation and Deviations Procedure
  • Complete site specific risk assessments on a daily basis and ensure maintenance of a safe working environment
  • Attend “toolbox talks” and other training courses as required
  • Record details of work undertaken and submit for invoicing in the required timescale

Requirements

They are happy to provide training as long as you are familiar with one of the utilities. 

  • GN02 for Main Laying / Service Laying (or equivalent)
  • NRSWA certificate for operatives
  • SHEA Gas, Water & Electric
  • SCO1, 2, 4 & 5
  • NCO2 Water Mains & Services
  • Electrical Passport for Cable Laying
  • Machine Excavation up to 10T (or your team assistant must have this)
  • Any other appropriate accreditations for works in England
