About the company:

You'd be joining a well established smart meter installation company. They work on providing energy companies all over the world with innovative solutions they require. 

With their proven track record and millions of smart meters installed worldwide by the company's skilled engineers they are on the lookout for some more talented engineers to join their team.

The role:

You would be responsible for the firmware development and offering support amongst their smart meter range. The role would be based in hook , however the company's benefit package includes a scheme where you can work at your own home for 60% of the time.

From day to day you will be given the opportunity to start working on live projects where you will need to apply your own knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities:

  • You will develop and maintain the wireless technologies used in the EDMI Smart Metering product range, including stack and application code.
  • You will understand secure coding techniques to ensure the product range meets the required industry standards for the relevant certifications and approvals.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for full life cycle development on the EDMI Smart Metering product range,

Skills/ qualifications:

Essential: 

  • Degree or equivalent experience, in a relevant subject
  • 3+ years of Embedded C programming
  • Design and development of low power systems
  • Secure coding, eg. MISRA rules
  • Experience of Protocol Stack Coding / Debug / Analysis (IP based stacks, Wireshark)
  • Interoperability, compliance and certification testing
  • Good working knowledge of embedded RTO
