I am writing to express my interest in the Estimating Engineer roles available with you. With a strong background in electrical engineering, hands-on experience in multi-utility infrastructure projects, and a proven track record of delivering accurate, commercially sound estimates, I am confident I can contribute effectively to any team.

Currently, I work as a Multi-Utility Designer in the Variations team for Last Mile Design & Build (formally UKPS), producing design variation quotes for clients, design variation packs and new designs once the variation is accepted.

Previously, I worked as a Change Control Estimator at UK Power Solutions, where I led quality assurance on complex contract variation estimates, ensuring full technical accuracy and compliance with client and company standards. In this role, I have successfully managed over 300 variation estimates, consistently meeting strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of precision. I have also collaborated closely with cross-functional teams—including design, construction, and finance—to streamline workflows and improve overall project efficiency. My ability to mentor and onboard new team members has further strengthened team performance and reduced training timelines.

Previously, as an Assistant Estimating Engineer, I developed detailed and cost-effective variation quotes for multi-utility projects. I was responsible for producing technical network designs and cable routing layouts using AutoCAD and WinDebut, while conducting in-depth design analysis to mitigate risks and ensure optimal solutions. My contributions helped achieve an 86% contract variation acceptance rate, reflecting both the accuracy and practicality of my estimates.

Academically, I hold an MSc in Engineering Management (Distinction) from the University of Huddersfield and a BSc in Electrical Engineering. My studies were complemented by key courses such as Power System Analysis, Power Distribution and Utilisation, Power System Protection, and High Voltage Engineering, which have provided me with a strong theoretical foundation to support my practical experience in power and utility systems.

In addition to my technical expertise, I am proficient in a range of industry tools, including AutoCAD, WinDebut, GasWorks and PowerWorld Simulator. I am also a registered member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET) and am working towards achieving Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
