The Client
Our client is a leading independent utility infrastructure provider in the UK, specialising in the design, construction, and operation of multi-utility networks. They deliver essential services including electricity, gas, water, wastewater, and fibre connections to residential and commercial developments nationwide.
The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Cable Jointer to support the delivery of critical electricity infrastructure projects across multi-utility developments.
You will play a key role in ensuring safe, high-quality installation and commissioning of electrical infrastructure works across site-based projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work safely at all times, wearing appropriate PPE provided
- Install and commission electrical infrastructure to a high standard, following all method statements, procedures, and safety instructions
- Receive, inspect, and confirm suitability of materials prior to use
- Ensure vehicles, plant, and equipment are maintained in good condition and report defects promptly
- Complete daily site-specific risk assessments and maintain a safe working environment
- Attend toolbox talks and required training sessions
- Accurately record and submit details of works completed for invoicing and reporting purposes
- Act as Competent Person on energisations (if assessed and authorised)
- Carry out any additional duties within the scope of experience as required by management
What we are looking for:
- Strong background in LV/HV cable jointing within utility or electrical infrastructure environments
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work and site compliance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a delivery team
- High attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Flexible and proactive approach to site-based work
- Strong communication skills and professional attitude on site
Requirements
- LV/HV Jointing Accreditation
- SHEA Electrical (Electrical Passport)
- CSCS Card
- City & Guilds qualification or equivalent experience
- Full clean UK driving licence
Desirable:
- IDNO/DNO operational authorisation
- Experience working on utility infrastructure or multi-utility projects
- NRSWA Operative Card
