They deliver once, future-proofed ultrafast Gigabit-capable full fibre broadband, giving buildings and homes the fastest available broadband. They have secured investment to deliver Fibre Only, Wholesale Only, Gigabit Broadband to more than 500,000 premises by 2025.

The Role

The Field Supervisor has an important role in the future delivery and management of their teams and business. You will be responsible for the sequencing, permitting, and site inspection of all fibre highway works (for both existing PIA works and new dig) and compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) and Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA).

Responsibilities

  • Inspect sites and locations to ensure compliance and identify requirements
  • Manage the relationship with the local authority and establishing and building relationships
  • Work alongside the build manager and HSEQ teams to ensure standards are met
  • Coordinating the sequencing of events with the PMO and teams on the ground
  • Be the point of contact for internal ground teams
  • Surveying for and developing TM plans
  • Investigating and recording any failures of works carried out by internal or contractor teams
  • Gathering and collating evidence in relation to any challenges received from local authorities in relation to NRSWA
  • Attend Local and County HAUC meetings as required
  • Liaise with members of the Public, Staff, Local Councils, County Councils and other authorities on matters related to NRSWA and TMA
  • Capture feedback from external parties and share this with the PMO

Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of NRSWA legislation, NRSWA Specification and Codes of Practice, and the Traffic Management Act and Codes of Practice
  • CDM/ Health and Safety knowledge within utilities/ telecoms
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Liaison with contractors and third parties
  • Operational application of NRSWA
  • Health and Safety Risk Assessment
  • 2+ years working in a similar capacity
  • Driving License (essential)
  • NRSWA Supervisor (desirable)
