The Company

A UK Infrastructure provider covering a variety of projects, with technology from copper, fibre and wireless technology. They deliver once, future-proofed ultrafast Gigabit-capable full fibre broadband, giving buildings and homes the fastest available broadband. They have secured investment to deliver Fibre Only, Wholesale Only, Gigabit Broadband to more than 500,000 premises by 2025.

The Role

The Area General Manager will be accountable for all activity within your region, tasked with the delivery/ performance of all build and installation pursuit to time, money and quality. Reporting directly to the COO, the successful candidate will guide on building a team at the company’s new regional base in North Midlands.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the end to end delivery of all projects are delivered to the highest standard - safely, on time and within cost
  • Ensure all measures are taken to drive productivity, key measures of success being RFS (Ready for Service) per month, CPPP (Cost Per Premise Passed) Auditing and quality control of the network and adherence to H&S standards
  • Accountable for all necessary agreements and permissions being in place in a logical sequence. Includes, but not limited to; wayleaves, SEDs and other commercial agreements
  • Develop solid project/ programme management within the regional team
  • Accountable for controlling build output, reviewing monthly build numbers and ensuring they are in line with targets
  • Managing the relationship with senior stakeholders in the Council and supporting your regional team in all aspects of delivery and build

Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of Capex programmes
  • Manage a team to deliver success and drive the company culture
  • Proven track record in managing teams to deliver utilities services across a program of works (preferably within Fibre/Telecoms)
  • Awareness of Local Authority and Highways requirements and regulations in the delivery of utility services
  • Good understanding of CDM (Construction Design Management) and CPP (Construction Phase Plan) and Health and Safety within these environments
