Our client works as specialist Engineers for the power industry. They help DNOs. IDNOs and ICPs design, build, and manage electricity networks. They offer technical advice to ensure power systems are safe, efficient, and up-to-date with modern technology.
About the Role:
Technical Project Engineers manage electricity distribution projects from start to finish, covering voltages from 33kV up to 132kV. This includes projects of all sizes, from small network extensions to major substation works, overhead lines, and underground cables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage electricity distribution projects from concept to completion (33kV–132kV).
- Oversee project design phases, coordinating design teams and preparing work packages.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Apply engineering judgement and escalate to specialists when required.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and supervision as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, ESQCR standards, and environmental regulations.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams throughout project delivery.
What we're looking for:
- Electrical Engineering/Design background with experience in electricity distribution or transmission systems, ideally familiar with 33kV–132kV projects in The UK or abroad.
- Clean UK driving licence for site visits and supervision.
- HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering preferred; IOSH/NEBOSH advantageous.
