A modern, close-knit power utilities contractor where you’re not lost in layers of management. You’ll work on industrial and commercial projects end to end, have direct access to decision-makers, and play a hands-on Senior Estimator role with real impact on bids and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
● Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for projects from initial enquiry through to contract award.
● Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and tender documentation to identify risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options.
● Build and maintain robust cost plans, Bills of Quantities, and pricing models.
● Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring best value and compliance with project requirements.
● Lead pre-tender meetings, site visits, and clarification discussions where required.
● Provide clear commercial advice to senior management to support bid/no-bid decisions.
● Maintain estimating databases, cost benchmarks, and historical pricing information.
● Work collaboratively with project and commercial teams to support smooth handover from estimating to delivery.
● Ensure all estimates comply with company procedures, contractual requirements, and industry standards.
Skills & Experience Required:
● Proven experience in a Senior Estimator or Estimator role within electrical infrastructure projects from LV - 33kV, higher voltages preferable.
● Strong understanding of estimating principles, cost control, and commercial risk management.
● Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and scopes of work accurately.
● Experience producing competitive tenders under time pressure.
● Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
● Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
● Highly organised, detail-focused, and commercially aware.
