Description
Location: Fully Remote (with occasional office visits)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + bonus potential
The Company
Join a well-established Multi-Utility ICP specialising in high-voltage substation design, installation, maintenance, and repair. The company delivers private high-voltage connections and works on critical power projects for industrial sites, data centres, and high-voltage networks.
The Role
We’re looking for a Sales / Business Development Manager to join our clients, focusing on higher-voltage industrial & commercial projects (up to 132kV) ranging from £1.5m-£40m. This is a newly created role aimed at driving new business, managing client relationships, and supporting the tendering team.
You’ll act as the bridge between clients and engineers, handling enquiries, NDAs, and PQQs, allowing tendering managers to focus on bids. Your main goal is to secure new contracts while nurturing existing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and win new business in the high-voltage (EHV/HV) market.
- Convert enquiries into contracts by collaborating with technical and tendering teams.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business.
- Liaise closely with engineers to ensure client requirements are met.
- Attend meetings, networking events, and trade shows to generate leads.
- Track sales performance and meet revenue targets.
Who We’re Looking For
- Understanding of electrical infrastructure, particularly 11kV–132kV networks.
- Experience within utilities, IDNOs, DNOs, and ICPs.
- Experience in sales, tendering, or project planning within the utilities sector.
- Confident in client-facing roles and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Highly organised, motivated, and able to perform under pressure.
The client will consider Tendering Engineers, Planners, or Project Managers looking to transition into a business development position.
Benefits
- Full-time, permanent role with flexible remote working.
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays, with options to earn or buy more.
- 5% employer pension contribution.
- Private health cover, cycle-to-work scheme, and life insurance (3x salary).
- Competitive salary with bonus potential.
