You will join a growing multi-utilities company who have been an established name within the infrastructure industry.

The Role 

In this position, you will be responsible for the management and coordination of all aspects of the planning, scheduling and budget management of the company’s projects. 

You will be responsible for meeting the clients needs on these projects; ensuring that delivery is on time, the work is completed to a high quality and in line with the companies health and safety procedures. 

Responsibilities 

  • In collaboration with the Resource Scheduling Manager, coordinate and organise crews for your assigned project.
  • Ensure equipment is stored correctly and safely.
  • Agree costs and sign off invoices in line with the agreed budget.
  • Ensure any slippage/risk is identified and remedial or mitigating actions are suggested and implemented balancing delivery with commercial impact
  • Be responsible for the costs of the assigned project and assist in generating monthly/weekly financial reports and ensuring the contract is profitable.
  • Line manages the assigned project team, ensuring performance appraisals and support.
  • Be responsible for ensuring crews are working efficiently, safely and aligned to the company values
  • Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling
  • Provide project reports for directors and clients ensuring they are accurate, provided in a timely manner and presented in a professional format
  • Liaise proactively with clients on progress of jobs.
  • Carry out surveys and audits in a timely manner to ensure the project delivery is being done safely and to a high standard
  • Organise vehicles and ensure vehicle logs and paperwork is completed
  • Work closely with other project managers to ensure standardised process, best practice and continuous improvement. 
  • Take responsibility for overall health and safety on the project, coordinating and completing risk assessments and other documentation where needed.
  • Ensure your work and that of your team is undertaken safely and in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures

Qualifications/Skills 

  • Project management experience with strong team leadership skills
  • Experience with working in the National Grid environment, substations and overhead lines
  • National Grid Person Authorisations NSI4 and Overhead line BESC
  • Fibre knowledge
  • Degree educated – in an engineering discipline 
  • APM 
  • MSP
  • First Aid 
  • CSCS Card
