About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join the growing team in Warrington. This role will focus on preparing accurate and competitive estimates for multi-utility projects covering electric, gas, water infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in the pre-construction phase, working closely with clients, designers, and internal teams to deliver compliant and value-driven proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret plans, bills of quantities, and technical drawings to assist in producing cost estimates across multi-utility projects
- Support desktop surveys and liaise with clients to clarify project scope and requirements
- Assist in reviewing connection offers from Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNOs)
- Gather and evaluate Asset Value quotations to support tender submissions
- Help prepare preliminary route plans, basic designs, and scope documentation following industry standards (e.g., G81)
- Support the creation of pricing breakdowns and customer proposals
- Participate in internal design and estimation meetings
- Assist with connection applications and maintain technical records
- Ensure all estimates are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time
- Keep up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth handover to delivery
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in estimating for electric, gas, water, or EV infrastructure projects, preferably within a multi-utility environment-any level of experience will be considered
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, bills of quantities, and connection offers
- Good communication skills for client liaison and internal collaboration
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of industry standards such as G81 is advantageous
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop professionally
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar Estimator or Assistant Estimator role within utilities or multi-utility sectors
- Relevant technical or vocational qualifications preferred but not essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software-desirable
