The Company

You will have an exciting opportunity to work on various water connection projects ranging from commercial, residential and even renewable energy connections. You will have the chance to work for a company that provides energy to over 300,000 across the UK. 

The Role

The main purpose of the role is to design and plan WIRS designs associated with the construction and installation of new contestable water connections for residential and industrial or commercial developments. 

Responsibilities:

• Design connection schemes with Engineering directives in mind;
• Produce effective design drawings for the project;
• Design (SLO/SLP) water connections for engineering standards to the Water Company’s design manual, keeping to the code of practice for the water mains and services and the water supply regulations;
• Attend site visits to create detailed information related to the design and planning of a project;
• Manage own portfolio of design work, and complete on time and within budget;
• Ensure design compliance with CDM;
• Work well in the team focusing on technical and planning matters to ensure smooth project delivery;
• To be fully aware of the market the company is operating within.

Experience:

• Previous experience of designing new water networks
• Understanding of the Self-Lay/NAV market
• Water Network Modelling Software (WaterGEMS or similar)
• Knowledge of engineering codes, regulations, standards and specifications
